I have officiated more wedding ceremonies there than at any other single venue. It feels like home.
Our approaches to weddings are perfectly aligned: we both strive to help couples personalize their wedding. We both want all the guests to appreciate and celebrate couples for the specific, unique qualities that make them who they are. We both want guests and couples to laugh and cry and exult with enthusiasm. We both want to make sure everything goes perfectly. We both LOVE what we do. I'm proud to be one of Brooklyn Winery's official vendor partners.
I've officiated in a lot of venues, so I speak from experience when I say that the Brooklyn Winery staff goes above and beyond for their couples and guests. I'm a careful observer before, during, and after the ceremony: I see staffers not just doing their jobs, but keeping an eye on the bigger picture, doing little things here and there to make sure everything is going to plan and on schedule. I hear them interact with guests - if I owned BW, I would be so proud of how every single person who works there carries out their duties. I have complete confidence in them.
I love everything about the place. I love the transformation that happens the moment you step from 8th street into the bar area. I love the creaking floorboards, the little rooms where bridal parties are hidden away before ceremonies, I love the cool area in back with the huge wine vats, I love the ceremony space with its skylight, big windows, wooden finery, floral detailing, intimate feel and great acoustics. After ceremonies, I take up residence in what I call 'the perch', a spot upstairs where you can lean your elbows on a ledge and look down at the buzzing bar activity and listen to a great band play during cocktail hour.
If you appreciate excellent service, invested staffers, the personal touch, and capable, intelligent guidance, Brooklyn Winery is a good fit for your wedding. I hope I get to officiate for you there.
