Are you willing to invest in the ceremony like you invested in the venue, the flowers, the photographer, the DJ and the cake? Do you want a memorable ceremony? Do you want your guests to enjoy it? Would you like it personal and performed by a professional?
My fee varies depending on how much preparation I will need to do for your ceremony, how big a ceremony I will be a part of (will this be an Extravaganza, a Shindig, or a Little Gem?), how much travel time will be necessary, if there will be a rehearsal on a date other than the wedding date (and if there will be travel necessary for that), and how far away the date of your ceremony will be (Next year? Next Tuesday?) After you hire me, I provide unlimited email and phone consultations, and I do my best to craft a ceremony that reflects your wishes. When you hire me, you are hiring a Certified Life-Cycle Celebrant®: the Mercedes of wedding officiants.
When considering price, keep in mind that I am a certified Life-Cycle Celebrant and an officiant, so my work serves to personalize your ceremony and to craft your wedding memories. While officiants who are only officiants may be more cost-effective, and while nothing can be more cost-effective than somebody at the City Clerk's office, someone as passionately committed to story and ceremony as I am will have a more profound effect on your big day.
I have a knack for putting bride, groom and guests at ease no matter how well-rehearsed or under-rehearsed they are.
To me, the only nerve-wracking part of the whole process should be choosing whom you're going to marry. If you made a good choice in that regard, the rest is cake. Wedding cake.
We can discuss pricing during our initial phone conversation or email, before we meet in person. I can guarantee this: I charge more than some Celebrants, and less than others.
Once you decide to hire me, I will provide you with a formal contract that we will both sign. I ask for half my fee up front, and the rest on or by the day of the ceremony. It's like you're only paying half my fee...twice.
